J.R. Bloom

J.R. Bloom manages one of the most complex and dynamic portfolios in Texas government affairs  and he does it with precision, integrity, and respect. As Director of Government Relations for Las Vegas Sands Corp., he oversees a coalition of more than 100 contract lobbyists and stakeholders working to advance policies that promote tourism, economic growth, and development in Texas.

“J.R. carries one of the most challenging portfolios in the state,” one nominator wrote. “He balances strategic oversight with hands-on leadership in a way few others could handle. He’s well liked by colleagues and legislative staffers alike because he’s an honest broker and an authentic person.” Another noted, “He manages over 80 lobbyists and a broad coalition while educating legislators and staff on the concept of destination resorts in Texas.”

A graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Juris Doctor, J.R. combines legal expertise with strategic policy acumen to navigate highly regulated industries and build consensus among diverse interests.
