Geoff Redick

Independent Strategic Communications Consultant, Freelance (formerly The Baker Agency)

Before he was a strategic communicator, Geoff Redick spent a decade as a broadcast journalist, work that gave him a reporter's instinct for what actually makes news. He held TV and radio jobs in Rochester and Albany, New York, winning multiple Associated Press awards and New York Emmy nominations along the way, then moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he served as senior political reporter for the market-leading station through the COVID-19 pandemic — coverage that included an Ohio Valley Emmy Award for his profile of the governor and the state's legislative response. That grounding in political reporting, across three markets and two states, is the throughline of a career built on knowing how a story lands before it's told.

Redick brought that instinct in-house for five years at The Baker Agency in Albany, where he managed a portfolio spanning government and public affairs alongside tourism. His client roster included the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY), PBA of New York State, Albany County and the Advance Albany County Alliance, the Town of Colonie, Fort Ticonderoga, and SUNY Schenectady. That work earned him recognition from Capital Region MARCOM and, nationally, from PR Daily, along with a spot on City & State's New York Power 75 in Political PR.

Redick recently left The Baker Agency after those five years and is now weighing his next move — in the meantime, he's available for freelance strategic communications work. It's a new chapter for a communicator whose track record, from the newsroom to the campaign war room, has consistently been about translating complex stories for the audiences that matter most.
