USLege’s ‘Best in Government Affairs Awards’ Celebrates Heroes of the Texas Capitol with State’s First Peer-Nominated Government Affairs Honor

AUSTIN, TX, October 31, 2025 - USLege has launched the Best in Government Affairs Awards, a peer-nominated recognition program honoring the lobbyists, legislative staffers, association leaders, and policy professionals who work behind the scenes at the Texas Capitol. USLege describes it as the state's first awards program of its kind built entirely on nominations from peers rather than sponsorships or paid entry.

The awards span eight categories: Top Hired Gun Lobbyists of the Year, Rising Stars of the Year, Top Staffer of the Year, Association Champion of the Year, Female Powerhouse of the Year, Strategic Communicator of the Year, Lobby Legends of the Year, and Policy Intelligence Leaders of the Year. There is no cost to nominate or to be featured.

According to the program's rules, "final selections are based on the strength and volume of nominations," a structure meant to keep the honor tied to reputation among colleagues rather than marketing spend. Winners receive a feature profile on the awards page, a digital award badge, and promotion to USLege's network of policy professionals and media partners.

The inaugural class of honorees, drawn from contract lobby firms, trade associations, and legislative offices across Austin, is published on USLege's Best in Government Affairs Awards page for Texas. USLege plans to expand the program to additional states in future award cycles.
