Perry Ochacher's career spans the public and private sectors as an attorney, political consultant, and lobbyist. Since founding Willett Public Affairs in 2018, he has built the firm into a leading New York government relations practice with a particular focus on healthcare, construction, real estate, municipalities, and nonprofits. Before launching Willett, he held executive positions at several prominent Albany lobbying firms, providing strategic legal, legislative, and communications counsel to clients across healthcare, transportation, insurance, real estate, retail, financial services, racing and gaming, construction, and telecommunications.
That range traces back to a career built at the intersection of law and politics. After graduating from Georgetown University Law Center, Ochacher practiced corporate and securities law at a major New York City firm, then moved into senior roles on political campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels and served as legal counsel to a long-serving member of the New York State Assembly. He also practiced real estate, land use, and development law at a leading Westchester County firm, and from 2002 to 2007 served as Clerk and Chief of Staff to the Westchester County Board of Legislators. Earlier still, he was Director of State Government Affairs for Cablevision Systems Corp. (now Altice USA), shaping public policy positions and government relations strategy for the telecommunications and media company.
That Westchester grounding gives Willett Public Affairs a distinctive position in New York's government relations landscape: recognizing the county had historically been underserved by the industry, Ochacher built a firm with the relationships to represent clients at the local, county, state, and federal levels simultaneously. Willett's Westchester clients now include the Hudson River Museum, Lyndhurst Mansion, the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center, Tarrytown Music Hall, the Town of Greenburgh, and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, alongside a statewide roster spanning trade associations, developers, and healthcare organizations. "Perry informs us of issues and bills we would never learn of until after they would be enacted," one client wrote. "Truly knowledgeable, hard working, informed and responsive. Very pro-active and well connected." That reputation has earned him three consecutive years on City & State's Westchester Power 100 and a spot in the outlet's Who's Who in Government Relations.
