About USLege
USLege is a rapidly growing GovTech company reimagining how people interact with the legislative process. We equip lobbyists, news organizations, state agencies and legislators with AI first, bill tracking software, and committee transcription software to navigate state legislatures more effectively. Our mission is to make legislative engagement modern, accessible, and actionable.

The Role
We are looking for a high-energy, politically fluent leader to launch, grow, and operationalize our presence in the state of California. As General Manager, you’ll serve as the face of USLege in California — building the brand, engaging the Capitol community, and establishing a powerful in-person operational footprint.
You will lead marketing efforts, build relationships across legislative and stakeholder communities, and organize our on-the-ground activities in Sacramento. You’ll be the kind of person who can confidently walk the halls of the Capitol, talk policy and tech, and rally allies around the USLege platform — both online and in person.
Key Responsibilities
Be the Face of USLege in California
- Represent USLege in meetings, Capitol interactions, and community events. Build strong relationships with policymakers, lobbyists, staffers, and government leaders.
Own California Marketing and Public Persona
- Frequently post content to platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and other relevant channels to build your voice and the company’s presence in the California legislative space. Our internal marketing team will support you every step of the way.
Stand Up Capitol Operations
- Establish and manage a reliable in-state presence: coordinate team members or contractors “running the building,” attending hearings, delivering insights, and maintaining an active pulse on Sacramento’s legislative activity.
Drive Adoption and Sales
- Identify, nurture, and close partnerships with advocacy organizations, government offices, and policy professionals. You don’t have to be a traditional salesperson, but you do need to love relationships and getting others excited about our mission.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in or around the California State Legislature — as a legislative staffer, lobbyist, advocate, government affairs professional, or similar.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, both online and in person.
- A visible, engaged, or aspiring public presence in California politics.
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset — able to operate independently while aligned with USLege’s broader vision.
- Needs to have a good reputation among peers in the CA Legislature.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in sales, business development, or account management.
- Familiarity with Capitol operations logistics (interns, runners, tracking).
What We Offer:
- The opportunity to build and lead USLege’s California presence from the ground up.
- Direct impact on company strategy, user experience, and growth in the state.
- Competitive compensation with significant performance-based upside.
- Health, dental and vision insurance
- Compensation will be variable based on experience and company fit
